Staff Attorney - Tenant Justice Project (Remote)

Reporting to the Tenant Justice Project Supervising Litigation Attorneys, the Staff Attorney provides comprehensive housing-related legal services to eligible tenants in accordance with CRLA program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services, and the Code of Professional Responsibility.

Staff Attorney - Community Equity Initiative

The CEI Staff Attorney will work with the Legal Program Director and staff to develop and implement creative advocacy strategies to address community-identified environmental justice issues in the Fresno region. Primary responsibilities include legal advocacy/litigation support, factual research, community outreach and education, community leadership development, and analysis of pending policies. Funding for this position is through December 31, 2024, with the expectation that continued funding will be awarded.

Staff Attorney - Rural Justice Unit

Reporting to the Directing Attorney, the Staff Attorney provides comprehensive legal services to eligible clients in CRLA priority areas in accordance with CRLA program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services, and the Code of Professional Responsibility.

Managing Attorney - CEI Environmental Justice

The CEI Managing Attorney will work with the Legal Program Director and staff to develop and implement creative advocacy strategies to address community-identified environmental justice issues in the Fresno region, and will assist in managing the Staff Attorney and Community worker teams in the Fresno and Tulare offices. Primary responsibilities include legal advocacy/litigation, collaboration with partners and government agencies, community leadership development, analysis of pending policies, and supervision of staff.

Staff Attorney - TJP Mobile Home (Remote)

Reporting to the Tenant Justice Project (TJP) Director and Supervising Litigation Attorney, the Staff Attorney provides comprehensive legal services to eligible clients in CRLA priority areas in accordance with CRLA program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services, and the Code of Professional Responsibility. The Staff Attorney will work with other CRLA attorneys and support staff providing legal services to owners of mobile homes who lease space in mobile home parks and face significant habitability issues and/or eviction. Funding for this position is through 12/27/2024, with the expectation that continued funding will be awarded.

Staff Attorney - Rural Justice Unit

Reporting to the Directing Attorney, the Staff Attorney provides comprehensive legal services to eligible clients in CRLA priority areas in accordance with CRLA program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services, and the Code of Professional Responsibility. Staff Attorney - Indigenous Program

Reporting to the Indigenous Program Legal Director, the Staff Attorney provides comprehensive legal services to eligible clients in CRLA’s priority areas of housing, employment, public benefits, education, and leadership development, with a focus on serving Indigenous Latin American communities in accordance with CRLA program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services and the Code of Professional Responsibility. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in serving the target populations and an enthusiasm for creative advocacy.

Community Worker - Community Equity Initiative

The CEI Community Worker will be partnered with the local CEI Staff Attorney to implement and evolve creative advocacy strategies to address community-identified environmental justice issues in the unincorporated communities in Stanislaus and Merced Counties. Primary responsibilities include conducting community outreach and education, community leadership development, and developing and implementing advocacy strategies to improve infrastructure, services, and investment in disadvantaged unincorporated communities.

Reporting to the Directing Attorney, the Staff Attorney provides comprehensive legal services to eligible clients in CRLA priority areas in accordance with CRLA program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services, and the Code of Professional Responsibility.

Staff Attorney - LGBTQ+ Program

The LGBTQ+ Program Staff Attorney will help increase access to justice for low-income lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people in rural California, including LGBTQ+ agricultural workers and immigrants. CRLA regularly represents LGBTQ+ clients in a variety of types of legal cases, including immigration, education and employment discrimination, access to gender-affirming care, as well as name and gender marker correction petitions.
