What to Do If You Experience Housing Discrimination

Have you been discriminated against in a housing situation? 

For more information about your rights or to file an administrative complaint you can call:

When you file a complaint be prepared to provide the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your address
  • Your phone number
  • Brief description of housing problem
  • Who discriminated against you (name, address, telephone number, company)

For HUD (under the Fair Housing Act) state that you were discriminated against because of your:

  • Race
  • National Origin
  • Color
  • Religion
  • Gender / Sex
  • Familial Status
  • Disability

For CRD (under the Fair Employment and Housing Act) state that you were discriminated against because of your:

  • Race
  • Source of Income
  • National Origin
  • Marital Status
  • Color
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Religion
  • Gender Identity
  • Sex
  • Gender Expression
  • Familial Status
  • Genetic Information
  • Disability
  • Age
  • Ancestry
  • Arbitrary Characteristics
  • Medical Condition
