Community Worker - Housing Helpline

Oxnard, Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, and Marysville
The Housing Community Worker will report to the Managing Attorney and will engage in community outreach and lay-advocacy related to tenant rights and assist in staffing a multi-office Housing legal advice hotline.

Directing Attorney - El Centro

El Centro
CRLA El Centro Office is seeking a Directing Attorney responsible for the overall provision of legal services to the low-income client community in the service area and the day-to-day operations of the office. This includes supervising, training, and motivating local office staff to provide the highest quality legal services in accordance with CRLA program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services, and the Code of Professional Responsibility.

Directing Attorney - Delano

Delano
Reporting to the Regional Director of Advocacy, the Directing Attorney is responsible for the overall provision of legal services to the low-income client community in the service area and the day-to-day operations of the CRLA Watsonville office. This includes supervising, training, and motivating local office staff to provide the highest quality legal services in accordance with CRLA program guidelines, the ABA Standards for Providers of Civil Legal Services, and the Code of Professional Responsibility.

Housing Virtual Clinic Coordinator

The Housing Virtual Clinic Coordinator supports the Housing Helpline Program and the Rural Justice Units state-wide advocacy efforts. The Coordinator reports to the Rural Justice Unit Director. CRLA is committed to providing quality legal services to low-income tenants facing evictions throughout rural California. CRLA employs one strategy to meet the high need for legal information and education through workshops and clinic models. In response to the pandemic and growing demand for remote services, CRLA will launch a virtual clinic model. The Coordinator will be on the ground floor of this new and innovative project developing content for a virtual clinic project and develop an implementation plan for this project.

Community Worker (ERAP)- San Luis Obispo

Reporting to the Directing Attorney/Managing Attorney, the Community Worker will perform initial screenings for eligibility, interviews to determine the nature of the legal problem/s and identify the type of legal assistance sought by the applicants.

Legal Program Director - Rural Education Equity Program

Reporting to the Deputy Director and Director of Litigation, Advocacy & Training (DLAT), the Legal Program Director will focus on targeted, outcome-oriented advocacy to reduce education disparities for low-income immigrants, communities of color, and other vulnerable communities in rural areas of California. The Legal Program Director will engage in direct representation of individuals and groups by developing and implementing outreach and education strategies, responding to legislative requests, and participating in public rule making that impacts education in rural communities. The Legal Program Director will develop impact litigation, advocacy initiatives, co-counsel significant litigation with regional offices, and provide oversight, including direction, coordination, state/local support, and monitoring of CRLA education advocacy to reduce education disparities by ensuring that priority area outcomes are met.
